BIR Essentials for New Accounting Books

Engaging into government transactions can be a lot of fuzz. With so many requirements and weird terminologies to go through, I usually seek advice from experts at this field. I ask almost about everything – from the location of the place, the necessities and of course, the paper works.

Will You Advice Your Child to Punch Someone?

Violence is never a good thing. Generally, educated and sensible people settle arguments in a diplomatic way – though talking. Yet, there are some cases to consider. Some people would rather take action – using their fists instead of their mouth to solve problems. In schools, as bullying can be openly popular, talking to the aggressor may not be efficient especially when their superiors (teachers) would choose not to intervene.

Interestingly, some parents would let their children fix their own problems by fighting back.

Tragic Love Poems

These are poems written out of wickedness. Fortunately, two are fictional tales. One is an unspoken secret.

Good byes can be very sad and haunting. My poems Warlock, Mesmerized and My Elisha have this common thought. Although, one of the three can be very grim (come to think of it, not parting entirely) and a naughty composition inspired by the genius Edgar Allan Poe, the other poems’ gloomy endings were really necessary. These two were written sensibly for the best of things - an awakening from a beautiful illusion.

Partings can be sorrowful, bitter-sweet and heart-slashing.

Dealing with Writer’s Block through Research

Having a writer’s block is one dilemma for someone who is anxious to write for a deadline. And ironically, the more one tries to conquer it, the more he feels beaten. While a writer’s block can be dealt by simply taking a break, this can be a problem with an individual who is trying to catch up with a schedule. This instance can be frustrating and fortunately, can be prevented in the future.

More ways of dealing with a writer’s block include watching movies and reading to get ideas and inspirations. Talking to people and listening to music can be helpful as well. And if you enjoy doing researches, definitely you will be free of a writer’s block.

Putting an Annoying Drinker to Sleep with MSG

MSG is monosodium glutamate. It is probably the most popular flavor enhancer throughout the globe. Discovered by Professor Kidune Ikeda of Tokyo Imperial University in the 1908, MSG has created an unhealthy reputation because of its undesirable effects on some people.

The FDA has categorized MSG as GRAS or Generally Recognized as Safe. However, monosodium glutamate (MSG) has been cited to cause migraine, insomnia, depression, anxiety and cognitive disorders. It is also linked to obesity as it can be very addicting in food. MSG can also cause palpitation, hypotension or hypertension, stomach pains, blurred vision, dizziness and even hives.

In Asian countries, MSG has remained a favorite. Interestingly, in some parts of the Philippines, MSG is also used to sedate talkative drunk individuals.

Drug Issue: Levocetirizine and Cetirizine

Levocetirizine and cetirizine are generally prescription medications, categorized as piperazine derivatives. Both are employed as systemic antihistamines for allergic rhinitis (sneezing, watery eyes, runny nose) and chronic urticaria (skin allergy). As a Third Generation Antihistamine, levocetirizine is actually an enantiomer of cetirizine, a Second Generation Antihistamine.

Both levocetirizine and cetirizine has less CNS penetration unlike the FGA.  With this, both drugs have minimal sedating effect.

Levocetirizine can be available in 5mg tablet and in 5mg/5ml drops. It is given once a day. A 5mg tablet can be taken by an adult and children from 6 years old and above. Children from 1 to 6 years old are given half the dose (2.5mg) while infants from 6 months to 1 year old are given 1.25mg once a day.

Cetirizine on the other hand, is available in 10mg tablet, 5mg/ 5ml syrup and 2.5mg/ml drops. A 10mg cetirizine can be taken by adults and children from six years old. It is usually taken once a day. However, its dose can be divided into two - usually given in the morning then in the evening. Children from 2 to 6 years old are given half the dose of a 10mg cetirizine and infants from 6 months to 1 year old are given 2.5mg.

Wednesday Thought: Love Sonnets

Written by yours truly, these three sonnets are really imperfect sonnets, trying to at least resemble, the Shakespearean sonnet pattern, a-b-a-b, c-d-c-d, e-f-e-f, g-g.

Sonnets 016, 012 and 035 are imperfect sonnets with a description of a perfect love written in three different ways.
